Yesterday, Apple announced their new iOS 5 for iPad, iPod and iPhone. If you didn’t watch keynote and looking for one, you can go to official apple.com website to watch it.

iOS 5 is major update. In their keynote, they discussed top 10 features out of 200. If you are developer, you can download it any time by log in into your developer account. If you are user, and want to download early, you can do it form here. Do it your own risk.

Here are top 10 features of new iOS 5.

Everyone wanted one nice notification center in iOS 5 which doesn’t interrupt their works. Apple did it. Now, you can see notification on top of screen if you are in app. You can slide from top to see all notification at one place. If you are on home screen, you can see notification, and if you want to go to particular notification, just slide as you do to unlock and will take directly to that application.

Newsstand is new application where you can see all your newspaper and magazine subscription. If will download in background, so if there is new edition of magazine, it will download automatically without doing anything. You can also listen and watch video, if there is in magazine.

Twitter is leading micro blogging site on earth and everyone loves it. New iOS 5 is twitter integrated. You need to log in one time for twitter and next time you want to tweet, you just need to press “Tweet”. It will be integrated in most application like camera, safari, and photos.

New Safari reader is introduced which remove unwanted stuff on page and let you read main article. I kinda like it. Another cool thing about safari reader is that you can mail those page instead of only URL. In iPad, it support full tab browsing.

Reminder is one of major new feature of iOS 5. It let you remind what to do when you reach to location or leave location. It also sync with iCal.

Taking picture is now easier than it used to be. You can take picture using volume up button. You can double click on home screen to access camera app. You can see any previous photos, but let you take picture, so you don’t miss any lovely moments in your life. It also let you pinch in zoom and edit take images with build in editing feature.

Now you can search full email, can write rich text and can flag mail. Added support to S/MIME. Dictionary is also added in mail and all over iOS. You can also split keyboard in iPad which make typing easy.

PC free gives you ability to set up iOS devices without connecting to PC. It will also let you update new software over air, so you don’t need to connect to computer at all and it will Delta Update.

Game center now include profile picture for friends and your own profile. It also compare your achievement with friend. It shows you your friend’s friend.

iMessage is now available for iPad, iPod and iPhone. It will let you send image, video, text, It also show you delivery conformation as well as read conformation. If he is replying back, you can see that person is typing message.

Update will let you airplay wirelessly. New features like build in dictionary, new music app for iPad, improved facetime quality, wireless sync in iTune, smart playlist sync with iTune.

Blogger writes lot of posts every week and put themselves in that condition when they don’t have any content to write. Without content, it become hard for blogger to keep traffic coming. Copy someone else’s content? Of course no, that’s not good for your blog reputation at all. So, what to do in that type of situation? There are many things you can do to get fresh topics to write. Here are some tips to get content.

Yes, you heard me right. Stop thinking about blog and go out some place where you always love to go. Because more you will think about your blog, more you will get tense. Go out with friends and have party and play games.

Doing other than blogging, will give you new topics to write. Whenever I don’t have content, I start playing and during that time, I mostly get my topics to write.

You might wondering, how does that help? Take for example, you are playing with friends and suddenly you think that “How does friends can help me?” and then topic come up in mind like this “How does friends can help you in Blogging?”.

Getting content isn’t hard. What you have to do it, stop thinking about content.

Stop doing whatever you are doing and charge your mind by getting fresh air.

Creating content is easy. When you create content, make sure that it is unique. For example, start writing something like, “Monday Blogging Tips” – means you will give some newbie tips for blogger on every monday or “Monthly WordPress Plugin” – means you will post list of recommended wordpress plugins at the end of month or “Updated WordPress Tricks”.

You can review other blogger or take interview of successful blogger. There is no limit for creating content.

You got my point. Just charge your mind to create creative content ideas. You can make more than one ideas like this to write.

You might wondering that, I don’t have content to write and you are giving us to create new personal blog. Guys, that’s why I added “Personal” in title.

Having personal blog has its own advantage. You can post whenever you want and whatever you want. When you don’t have content to write for your professional blog, start typing anything on your personal blog. Trust me You will get some content.

Newspaper, comics and magazine are full of content. Of course, they will be based on type of comics and magazine, but you start comparing with your blog niche, you will start getting content.

Take a simple example. When you are reading magazine about food. You read one article on “Things you need to do after you eat fat food”. Now think about your blog content and start comparing this idea to your blog topics. You will definitely get topic where you can write something using that title. For instance “5 important things to check after you make brand new blog.”

You can read other’s blog which are not your type of blog niche. You can do same thing as I mentioned for magazine and comics. Compare topic and think about post to write in your blog niche.

Reading different stuff can give you fresh and unique topics to write.

TV shows, Documentary and Movies are great resource for blog content. Every movie has something to teach you and every TV show has something to tell you.  You can use different ideas and topics to write in your niche.

You can take any TV actor or Movie actor and use his name in topic and make new post, such as “10 things I learned about blogging from Tom Cruise”.

Don’t unsubscribe from my blog, because I told you to read comment from other blog. Guys, if you read other blog comments, you will definitely find many comments with questions. You can address their question as your blog post.

I have read many comments where visitor ask some question and blogger doesn’t respond to their question, because they have no idea what to reply. Their questions can be your content.

I used this strategy in my old blog. One of person asked on other blog that how to make author box more attractive in blogger. He didn’t responded and I wrote post on it. I got nice feedback from visitors.

Using visitor’s questions can be your topics to write, so start reading comment on other blogs.

Adding related post with thumbnail at the end of all post become needed thing for any blog and many of have seen many plugins but every one require to have added featured image when we make post. Who really have done that? May be few people. Check out demo at end of post or below image.

For this trick, you need to use plugins. I know you don’t like plugins, but without feature image, you need to use it.

Tutorials: How to Install Plugins in wordpress?

After installing both plugins, go to similar post plugins setting page. You will see some options like General, Output and Filter. On general page, you can set number of post to show and many more other option to show related post based on category and tags.

Click on Output setting which is main part to change. In output template, paste following code:

Few days ago, I wrote post on “Top articles for commenting on other blogs“. Most of them discussed about how can you leave comments effectively, but none of them told us what to do after you leave comment on other blogs. Leaving comment is first step and keeping track of it second and most important step. Here is list of things you need to do and consider after you leave quality comments on others blogs.

When you leave comment with your insight about any quality post, people will definitely going to reply back on your comment with their insight and opinion. But if you don’t subscribe to comment, you won’t know that someone replied back to your comment. They might ask you question and if you don’t reply back, you might lose your image. People might start to think that you made first quality comment to get traffic. So, it is better idea to subscribe to comment.

If post doesn’t have subscribe to comment option, then bookmark that post, so you can visit on next day and make discussion interesting and take it to next level.

Don’t stop commenting until there is nothing more to say about topic or discussion is going nowhere. That’s best strategy after leaving comment.

If you leave quality comment, visitor might want to see what you have to say on your blog and if they like your post, they will start making conversation. You need to be ready to reply on each comment which worth replying back. Of course, “worth replying”, because you will get some people, who will left only “comments for traffic”.

Don’t forget to leave quality comment on your blog as well. Because, it does show your involvement in discussion and interest in others’ opinion.

Traffic will start coming if you start writing effective comments. Ask this question to yourself that “When did I make last post on my blog?” If answer is more than one week or one month, I think it is time to write some quality posts. Update it with posts.

These are things you need to do when you start blogging, but in case you didn’t do at that time, this is best time for you to do it. Check that your twitter link is taking to your twitter page and subscribe box will subscribe to your blog instead of someone else’s. Because, if they will like your writing style and content then, they will definitely want to subscribe to your blog, or be fan on facebook.

If your blog doesn’t have unique design, make one. If you don’t have sharing buttons, add some and if your blog doesn’t have commenting option, do it now.

Did you leave quality comment here? You know what to do next!!!

Few days ago, we wrote a post on “4 Android application for Blogger” and wordpress is in that list. You can add self-hosted wordpress blog in wordpress application for android, but for that you need to allow remote publishing. When I first used, I had no idea how to do it. But eventually I figured it out. I don’t want you to face same problem I faced. If you want to post using iOS device, you need to apply same settings.

Go to your wordpress admin area and click on writing option which is under settings. Find remote publishing option. Refer to image.

You will see option options like above. Check mark both. Now log in to your wordpress application. Same thing apply to wordpress application for iOS devices.

How many of you wish to answer call from far away when you can’t reach to your cell phone(android)? Almost every time, but can’t do it. No worry any more. Having such features in android is what it make something unique than iOS. Of course, for this you need to root your device. Let’s come to main point of using android from PC web browser. It works very simple way. Lazydroid apps give you and IP which will be typed in your address bar of browser.

One requirement for using this is that your device and your computer has be on same internet connection means same wifi.

How many times did you get comments like “Thank you” “Nice job” and “You nailed it”? You don’t need to answer that question. Do you really like that because most of them really didn’t mean to say it, but they want to get traffic for their blog. You might want to stop it. I come up with easy solution for you.

Leaving comment is art and if you are not good at it, you can read my post on “4 Great posts on commenting on other blogs.”

Best way to stop them to leave such comments is by forcing them to leave longer comments. You can’t allow them to leave comments fewer than some particular number of words like “Visitors have to write at least 15 words for comments.”

You can do it using some codes, but if we can use plugins, who would prefer to go inside PHP file and screw blog?

Here are two plugins which make visitors to leave minimum words as comment.

Short comment filter gives you power to force your visitor to leave longer comments. It have a lot more features which are here.

- Filter by word or letter count.

- Option to delete or spam comment.

- Set minimum comment length.

- Filter comments made by registered users.

- Show custom message when some one doesn’t meet requirement.

Android is now top leading mobile OS in world and I like it better than iOS because, android is more user friendly than iOS. I love the way android allow us to access all our file which isn’t possible in iOS without jailbreaking devices. I was looking for app which allow me to access my android files wirelessly from my PC and got many but none of them working as smoothly as it suppose to be and I needed. So, I went on hunt to find best of them. I came up with one application which is perfect as I needed and wanted to share with other.

Go to Market place in android device and search for WiFi file explorer. You will see black folder with orange wifi icon in it. That’s application you need. There are 2 version, Free and paid. I am using PRO in this post. Download it which ever you like. Refer to image with red box, if you are not sure.

Next step is go to link provided in image. it is most like(As in my demo) refer in image.

Let me stop for while and clear myself about title. I am not talking about actual theme, I am talking about placing right stuff in blog. Placing right widget at right place is what require to attract more people. Putting right content at right place is what require to make your blog easy to navigate. Let’s discuss it in detail.

If you don’t know how to change theme in wordpress, you might want to check out “How to change theme in wordpress?”

First thing you need to choose is right theme with necessary column and size. As you know that, you can choose 2 or 3 column of blog theme, one is for blog posts, and 2 is for sidebars.

You need to think first that what are you going to put in your sidebar. Mostly one sidebar is enough, but if you have a lot of stuff to share, then I will prefer to go with 2 column.

If you prefer to use 2 sidebar, make sure that you have enough to offer to your visitor and of course worth it.

After choosing number of column of your blog, you need to choose width of those columns. If you make it too wide, your design isn’t going to look nice. So, when you are choosing width of column, think as user and how do you want your blog as visitors. It will definitely going to help you.

Widgets has to be in right order. I have seen many blog where first widget is recent post. As you know that they can already see recent post in your main page. So, what is purpose of it.

Subscribe box is best option to put as your first widget. If you theme doesn’t have search box in theme, then I will recommend you to put search right after subscribe box.

After these two important widgets, You can put like random post, popular posts, and facebook fan box or tags. There is no limit as well as it is important for you to keep your visitor engaged.

Links in navigation bar is important to give best of your blog for visitor’s to check out.

If you have two navigation bar, then it is not big problem, but if you have only one, then you might need to think while for putting link. Of course all link are important from your side,  but you need to think it as visitor’s prospective.

Making post isn’t only enough for attracting more reader to come. Of course, if you will write quality content, then reader will come, but to keep them on your blog for while is an amazing art. It require some polish to post. You can increase visiting time of any individual reader by enhancing your blog post. People love to read post with unique title. You can make you title different than other blogger by adding some weird keywords like hell, heaven or anything which catch visitor’s eye.

Post title has to be short in order to read and make your visitor to click on link to read further. You can add some thing like numbers, famous people name in post title. Let’s take some example of title with few different keywords.

Did you see effect of some addition word & number in post title? I am sure you will definitely love to read article with last post title. Content is going to be same in all post title, but post title itself attract you to read further.

You already knew about this because you have already experiment it. But only adding any image isn’t going to work. Adding right and particular image is what post need to get attention from blogger.

Many blogger, just put any image to make it media rich. If you find any image, create your own, but relevant to your post title and content.

Take any tutorial post and see that how many of you have added image step by step. Of course you add some images, but if you add all images, visitor will love to know about whole tutorial. Because reading tutorial is one thing and applying is another. Small mistake or misunderstanding can lead them to no where. But if they have right image to compare, they will know what to do next.

This is best way to make your post SEO optimized and at the same time giving user info about particular stuff. For instance, if you talking about making blog and what is blog all about? (Talking about newbie on internet). People don’t have idea what are you talking about, then they will stop reading what you have say even though it is important. So, make those word hyperlink and let them go to another page to read more about it.

Links with in link has its own advantage. It gives you power to control visitor’s move. You can keep them busy by giving new and informative things to read and at same time, you will get more page views. You also get more comments on your old post as well.

Make sure to add only few links, other wise your post will be full of links and people might consider post as spam!!!!

As you can see in this post that I have made unique way to show my main points like between two lines, making them bold and giving them different color than regular text. I use this technique in my all post to enhance my post content. This way visitor know which is important for them and encourage them to read further in that topic.

Using Heading HTML code is another way to improve post content. You can give H1 code for main point and H2 for sub point and so on. Heading tag does increase SEO of post as well.

You can also add ordered and unordered list for different stuff. I have seen many blogger you write feature of something in paragraph, but if you write them in list, it will be great way to catch visitor’s eye. Double check that you have added all of things I mentioned in this post like unique post title, images and links with in blog post.

Make sure that you didn’t make lot of grammar mistakes and spelling mistakes. Most importantly check it for post title. Making spelling mistake in post title will destroy your visitor’s mood to read it.

Also don’t forget to mention that you are there to help them, if you are giving them tutorial on something. That way they know that you are not blogging only to get visitor, but also ready to support them when they needed.

Installing wordpress and starting blogging isn’t enough to be professional blogger. It require lot of steps after installing it. I was setting my blog and making some thesis customization after my first post. During this time, I made many wordpress change. Some wordpress change need to be done before we start blogging. I made this post, for those, Who are new at blogging and Have no idea what to do after setting up their first blog.

Spammer are waiting for you to start blogging, so they can fill your comment box with spam. I still remember my first day of blogging when I got my first comment. I was excited that who is going to comment on my boring post. You guessed it right!!! It was spammer.

Akismet is wonderful plugin which will come installed in wordpress, but there is one problem, you need to activate. You have to have API key in order to activate it. If you don’t know what is akismet API, you can read it here and can get one.

“I hate spammer, just because they spam!”

You are safe! But now what? Domain is important in blogging. Default will be www.yourdomain.com.  WWW. is not problem in blogging but if you want your name shorter, you can remove www.

For example: my blog doesn’t have www in domain name. There are other who do. Its up to you.

- Go to wp-admin>>Settings>>General (You will see page similar to below image)

Change both WordPress address and Blog address to http://yourdomain.com. Click Save chages.

Note: If you want www. in domain name, you don’t need to do this.

Favicon is unique ID of blog. Favicon is an image next to URL in Browser address bar. See below.

You can see small icon before URL is favicon. It is easy to locate your blog when someone has opened many tab.

Need one?  Here is steps….

- Make one image. Go to Online converter to ICO.

- Browse your image and click convert. Download file for MAC or WINDOWS whichever you use.

- Now you can add favicon two ways.

1. Adding code in php files.

- Go to wp-admin>>Appearance>>Editor>>Header.php

- Add below code before </head>.

- Remove saved cache and Reload page.

2. Using Personal Favicon wordpress plugins (We use this plugins)

- Download Personal Favicon wordpress plugin and install on your blog.

- Go to personal favicon plugins. (Refer to image)

- Add your .ico file URL and select option “Where to apply favicon”

- Click update and check out….

Permalink structure is link structure for you post, category and tags. Deafult link for post will be http://yourdomain.com/?p=9. I am sure that it won’t help you for SEO purpose. I recommend you to change to something like Http://yourdomain.com/post-title. If you were using blogger then default structure was http://yourdomain.com/year/month/posttitle.html and now moved to wordpress then I am sure you definitely don’t want to lose your traffic. Here is steps…

- GO to wp-admin>>Settings>>Permalinks. (Refer to image)

- You can see my permalink structure is /%category%/%postname%/. Change according to your choice. If you are migrating from blogger to wordpress, then check radio button next to Month and name. If you want to change category and tag link structure, you can do by adding whatever you want.

Contact form is most easy way for reader to keep in touch with blogger. But what if you don’t have contact page on your blogger. Make one..!

Simple way to make contact form is to use wordpress feature. Of course, I am talking about contact form 7 – WordPress Plugin.

Install WordPress plugins and Go to contact form setting page.

Set up blanks according to your choice such as Name, eMail, URL and Message. (Refer to image)

Make another page and paste RED BOX code in page and check preview. Check LiveDemo.

Please don’t forget to subscribe yourself. Why? It is way to keep track how will your post look when someone get update of your post. So, If anything wrong in your post, you can change.

Yes, site stat counter. To track of your blog, you need to sign up for any site stat counter. So, you know, what do people love to read, where do they spend they time while they are on your blog, where did they come from such as search engine or direct link.

Everyone think that leaving comment is best way to great traffic, but what I think is leaving comment is all about building social network. Comments have be to different and effective like adding little bit about post content instead of just normal comments like “I agree or Nice post or thanks for info”. There are lot of post on commenting, like what to comment? How to comment and when to comment? But I come up with top 4 post where they talk about how to make comments effective and will definitely going to help in your blogger career.

I visited twohourblogger about 4 days ago and I started to like his blog. He wrote wornderful post on commenting and I couldn’t stop my self to add it in this list on top of other 4.

Problogger is another blog which has a lot of subscriber and twitter follower. Problogger does have guest posting and Joe posted strategy on commenting. I come up to their post today and decided to make this post so reader know what to do when they want to make comments.

Joe added some that how to target blog and placement of comments. He mentioned that being late in comment is better than being first. I totally agree with him. What I want you to do is just go and read this interesting article.

Most people doesn’t want to limit their post title, but we shouldn’t leave those out who are finding hack for limiting post title in wordpress. This might not be highly require trick, but for some it is require if their post titles are too long. Don’t worry, just follow guide and you will be done.

Whenever someone read new and informative blog, first thing visitor want to know is about the author of blog, but what if there is no about page for blog. I recently created my page and when I started to write, I was confused on ideas. What should I write? How much should I write? So, I decided to write a post on “How to write about page for blog?

Before you read this post, don’t forget to check our about me page.

About page should contain information about author, what does he/she do and origin of him/her. Where is he living currently, what is he/she studying and anything else important for visitor to know. As you can see my about me page, you will find all of information about me. I wrote almost all detail about me for my visitors. If you can, don’t forget to put your image in about page, because when visitor think about your blog, your image will come up in his mind. If you have personal blog, please include link, so if he want to know more about you, he/she can visit you.

About page for blog should also contain information about blog. You might wondering that what should we write? Writing about blog is important. You can write on why did you start new blog? When did you start it? What is link for your twitter page and facebook and other information you want your visitor to know about blog.

You can also add contact detail such as email, phone number and skype ID. If youe logo design is based on your blog name, please give detail information about it. You can also add any detail you think as important for your visitor. There is no limit, but make it interesting to read for your blog.

Google IO 2011 become more interesting and exciting today. They introduced angry bird for google chrome. It has same experience as other device with angry bird. I played my self for while and get late to post about it. I am sure that you will enjoy it as much as I did.

Angry bird for Google chrome have option to choose between SD version and HD version. You can also play it offline. It is wonderful experience to play. To play game in computer, you have to have Google chrome.Check out some screen shots.

Yes guys, there is wordpress application for android device. I have been using this for a long time and I love it. There are lot of features available in application.

Which android application are you using for your blog?

Google music beta is launched today in Google I/O 2011. Google music beta is cloud based music storage and player for Honeycomb and Gingerbread. Google music beta is avaliable in USA only and will be invite only. Have you heard about amazon cloud service? It is similar to that, so you don’t need to worry about wire and sync process. It store music for you, so you can use that storage for other things. WoHOOO!

Google made it only workable on those devices which have flash, in short, Apple user can’t take an advantage of this service. Google also role out update for Music application as well. You can go to android app market and update it.

You can get your invite on music.google.com. As usual, Google services are first invites only.
