As Blogger or wordpress users, we make a lot of change in theme or code to make our blog or website more use friendly after installing or making new blog. As you can see, recently I made a lot of change in my thesis theme – highly customizable wordpress theme, such as adding related post with thumbnail, author box and adding subscribe box at the end of each post. When I was finalizing all stuff I changed, I found some bugs in my codes, such as they don’t take me to page I wanted and doesn’t subscribe at all. I don’t want you to make same mistake. Here is 5 important things to check for your blog. If you haven’t checked when you made your blog, you can do it now.

Search box is important tools for your blog. It helps our visitors to search any term on our blog. But what if it doesn’t search anything at all. Yes, guys, it happens. Whenever you add search box, try to search few words, so if it doesn’t work, you can change it the time you find out. This mostly doesn’t happen with wordpress built in search box. If you use custom search box such as google or integrated google search with your custom code, it is always better idea to check that it is working as it suppose to.

Subscribe box is usually made by google feed burner and if you copy and paste the subscribe box code in your blog, it will work perfectly normal without any problem. But mostly people make change, so it looks attractive to get more subscribers. You can see difference in below image which I made for my blog. If we make a change in code, sometime subscribe link stop working because of minor mistake, so it is always good idea to check your subscribe box.

Whenever something goes wrong on your blog or visitor wants help, they will contact you using contact form. But if your blog contact form doesn’t work, then they can’t contact you any more and they will start thinking that he is type of blogger who doesn’t help other and you know result. So, it is important to check you contact form to make sure that you are getting emails, if you use your blog contact form.

Sharing is caring. People will share your link whenever they will like your any post. But, sometimes sharing links don’t work and visitors can’t share your post links with other. I specifically added sharing link in checklist because I checked my own sharing links and found that sharing links do works but they share my main blog URL instead of post URL. If I hadn’t check it my self, I wouldn’t have known the error and if one of my visitor might tell me using contact form, and if my contact form doesn’t work, then I can’t find out error. We put lot of link in addition to related posts and random post such as affiliate links, contact page link and privacy policy links. Because of small error in link code, link might not work. So, it is better to make sure that all link in sidebar and footer are working.
